Look for this book

Look for this book, my children. You will find it in my recipe drawer. You will be proud of me because of my foresight into your future. One day, I decided it would be easier to find my favorite recipes if I just put them into a convenient book. Available right at my finger tips. This is the first one. I hope to fill the second one before I

pass away and these treasures become yours. I have included canning experiments, clippings from magazines and recipes handwritten by myself and my friends and relatives.

I also included notes about how good they were or maybe changes to some of the ingredients. At any rate, please take note of this book carefully before chucking it into the thrift store pile. I use it almost every day.

Here is an example of a cookie recipe from my mother, your grandmother.

I do hope everyone can read it. It is a most excellent sugar cookie, often times referred to as crack by my brother Curt and me. Best of all its simple. When asked where she got this recipe from Grandma said, “a friend.” What she really meant was … “I cut it from a magazine, way back when, but I don’t want you to know that it didn’t come from one of your relatives.”

At least that is what I remember. Eat well my children. It is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

That does it Sue, I am taking a pic of my home made recipe book from the
70ies and send it to you in email. Oldest granddaughter, of three, asked me
about 10 years ago if I would will it to her, ha ha. She does have to worry as the
other 2 do not bake or cook (it must come from a store shelf or freezer) but
Jessica is a chip off of those Gramma block – and she is good. Hugs, Joan
