The Emotional Journey of Medical Appointments

two girls on a snow pile

Well, it’s not Monday, but I thought I had better stick to my schedule and get a post out. It was a wonderful Easter Saturday, followed by the dreaded CT scan and MRI on Easter Monday.

It’s Tuesday evening, and this Tom Petty song keeps going around my head.

“The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you get one yard
You take it on faith you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part.”

Radiology was so busy on Monday those young technicians were running down the halls from CT to MRI to the waiting room and back again.

On Tuesday, I had an appointment with Dr. Rocket, and the scan reports were unavailable. We discussed general health. I mentioned I had a telemedicine appointment with Dr. Pollock next week Wednesday.

Dr. Rocket said if Dr. Pollock needed anything to call the office. In the end, we agreed the tumor in my brain belonged to Dr. Pollock.

That extends the waiting for another week. I hope my heart can handle the wait.

Because waiting is the hardest part, so take it on faith.

I will keep you posted.
